"Students from Hartford built a system that transformed the life of a village 7,000 miles away. Thank you, Academy of Engineering and Green Technology students.”  Peter Werth, Werth Family Foundation, funder of the 2013 Nepal project.

In 2013, eight students from the Academy of Engineering and Green Technology (AEGT) in Hartford, Connecticut, designed and built a unique renewable power system for the village of Saldang, Nepal, bringing electricity to the village for the first time. That system now provides power for the village’s school and a birthing center.

In 2015, AEGT students want to do it again. This year, 19 students have begun to design and build two systems that they will have delivered to the villages of Namdo and Karang in Nepal this summer. With a total budget of $97,500, they have raised over 75% of the funds needed to make this project a reality, and they could use your help to reach their goal.
